Seeking motivated individual to fill the position of Human Resources Specialist in our Headquarters Office located in Denton, MD. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or related field is preferred.
Must have a minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience with a High School Diploma, a minimum of seven (7) years relevant experience with an Associate’s degree, and a minimum of four (4) years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree. Previous rural electric cooperative experience is desirable.
Position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, and effectiveness at dealing with employees and managers at all levels. Qualified candidates will be proficient at interpreting and applying good management practices, policies and contracts; skillful at organizing and scheduling; and experienced in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable candidates will have a working knowledge of payroll and personnel administration, employee counseling and development, event planning and execution, policy development, and labor law and contract administration.
Position may require some irregular hours of work, and occasional travel representing the Cooperative at various professional and association meetings.

Seeking motivated individual to fill the position of System Planning Engineer in our Headquarters Office located in Denton, MD. A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required. Must be a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Maryland or become registered in Maryland within one (1) year.
Must have five to seven (5 -7) years of progressively responsible experience in electrical utility engineering. Experience in developing short-term and long-term work plans is essential. Must have a working knowledge of long-term engineering studies, sectionalizing studies, and standards and specifications for construction of all electric plant facilities. Experience with engineering software is essential. Must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office product suite.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must possess the ability to motivate and supervise employees. Must possess a valid, Maryland Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
Position requires occasional irregular hours and occasional outside work. Position also requires occasional travel for employee development and training.
As a condition of employment, the candidate will be required to pass a physical examination and a drug test. Individual must be able to work on a computer for long periods of time. Individual must also be able to negotiate uneven terrain and walk long distances in reaching distribution, transmission and substation facilities. Individual must be able to manipulate hand tools to open enclosures and other structures and must be able to maintain footing and balance when in close proximity to high voltage structures that are open for inspection, exposing energized parts.
